Study Skills

This class provides instruction and coaching to increase your study skills for higher achievement in Middle/High School and beyond. Students will learn how to: set realistic goals and achieve them, organize their school work, maintain focus during lessons and study time, get their work done by due dates, study effectively for tests, take and organize notes for learning, plan for long-term projects and stay motivated throughout the school year.

Student CEO

Students will learn the valuable skills of goal setting & achievement, time management, communicating progress with stakeholders (parents/teachers), maintaining motivation, and the creation of the right habits and systems for success by learning the skills and strategies to increase achievement and become a great "CEO" of their own academic career.

Study Strategies for Distracted Students

Students discover why it is so hard for their brains to stay focused. They learn proven study strategies to increase focus and motivation at school and during homework time. Parents are encouraged to attend the last session where we will review the strategies learned, how they can help support their students as they integrate this learning into their daily lives to increase academic achievement.

How to finish the school year strong

Students learn to stay motivated and focused during the toughest part of the year. They will identify current challenges, learn strategies to overcome them and put together a plan to stay motivated and follow through in hitting their academic goals. Beginners through intermediate study skills students can all benefit from this collaborative and supportive environment with other students. It will include skill building in the areas of focus/concentration, motivation, goal setting and attainment, work completion, meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency of learning, test-taking strategies among other areas of challenge.

Our Study Skills classes are

  • Collaborative

    Our sessions are dedicated to working collaboratively in order to develop higher-level thinking, oral communication, and leadership skills. Students will learn common challenges and share ideas to overcome them with the guidance of the study skills coach.

  • Personalized

    Students will learn how to capitalize on what they already do well while learning new strategies to overcome their challenges. They will create a personalized plan to increase their academic achievement and have a plan of action to hit their goals.
